Story Time

Stories are powerful things. They can capture children's imagination, elevate their interest to learn and improve their literacy. It is vital for young children to hear, read and tell stories as it allows them to explore different ideas and concepts beyond their daily life. They are also fun to tell, fun to hear and fun to share!

I am running a new ECA program for P.2 students this year called "Story Time". I tell students a new story each week. We have a discussion about the characters and events of the story, then I guide them to retell the story in their own ways.

Sometimes we use puppets, other times I teach them to make their own props.

There's always a post-reading game or activity too. So far I have received some wonderful feedback from the kids and their parents. Thank you!! I hope I can continue to develop this program over time to help students learn English in a fun and creative way :)

We Are Good Children

We had our annual Activity Day last Friday and I personally thought it was the best Activity Day to date. This year's theme was "We Are Good Children". The students participated in vairous activities throughout the day that revolved around this topic.

Activities included donating food to the local Food Bank, watching a Magic Show about how to be filial to your parents, learning about the cultural differences of children around the world, participating in a fitness session with Master Wong who taught them some Kung Fu moves and making beautiful handicrafts.

Being the photographer for the day, I witnessed the kids' enjoyment and excitement. Hence I'd like to share some wonderful moments that I captured with you. Enjoy!
