Lessons have begun for P.2 students already. Thank-you for the warm welcome kids! I look forward to a year of fun learning with you boys.
The focus in the first term is reading, spelling and vocabulary building. Students will be introduced to various elements of the English language including things like prefixes, suffixes, homophones, synonyms, antonyms, long vowel sounds and special spelling rules.
The focus in term 2 is reading and writing different text types. Students will be introduced to specific elements of particular text types which are visible to them on a daily basis e.g. advertisement posters, signs, letters, postcards, recipes, procedural texts, invitations etc. The main aim is to teach students to decode and read these text types.
